DATA PROTECTION

As announced, the first coin in the Magyar Nemzeti Bank’s series “Nation-building sovereigns of the Árpád Dynasty” will be the 2021 collector coin “King Saint Stephen”, for which the Hungarian Mint Ltd. is holding a drawing of purchase rights.

Hungarian Mint Ltd. manages personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC, as well as the provisions of Act CXII of 2011 on the Right of Informational Self-Determination and on Freedom of Information, as follows:

Drawing procedures: during the drawing, which will be held in the presence of a public notary, the information will be anonymised and registrants will participate exclusively with their individual identification numbers. Minutes of the drawing shall be prepared.

Objective of data management: participation in the drawing with the public notary present, in the case of registered parties, issue of the invoice, documentation of purchase and payment, discharge of the duties set forth in the law on preventing money laundering and the law on accounting, handling of any issues related to returned goods, contact with purchaser.

Legal basis for data management: Article 6 (1) a) of GDPR, Article 6 (1) b) of GDPR and Article 6 (1) e) of GDPR

Type of personal data managed: name given during registration, individual serial number of the registrants, billing address, e-mail address, for drawing winners: type of purchasers (company/private person), delivery address, purchase information (date, name of product, value)

Duration of data management: for drawing winners, eight years in accordance with 56. § (2) of the Money Laundering Act and 169 § (2) of Accounting Act; in respect of registrants who are not drawn, the registered data will be automatically deleted within 30 days of the day following the drawing.

Data protection measures: Hungarian Mint Ltd. stores the personal data in electronic format on its own servers and does not employ the services of other companies for storage. Hungarian Mint Ltd. takes suitable measures to ensure the protection of personal data, including protection from unauthorized access or alteration.

 

Rights in relation to data management:

 

Right of information and access:

Data subjects may request from Hungarian Mint Ltd. written information by way of the contacts listed below under “Data Controller”, in respect of the following:

  • what personal data is managed,
  • on what legal basis personal data is managed,
  • for what purpose(s) personal data is managed,
  • what sources are used for personal data,
  • how long personal data is managed,
  • whether their personal data is still being managed,
  • to whom, when, for what reason and what personal data Hungarian Mint Ltd. has provided access or to whom it has provided personal data.

Above and beyond this, they may request a copy of their personal data stored by Hungarian Mint Ltd.

Hungarian Mint Ltd. shall comply with data subjects’ requests within 30 days, by way of a response letter sent to the contact information provided. If the request is sent to Hungarian Mint Ltd. electronically, the response letter of Hungarian Mint Ltd. shall also be sent electronically, if possible. If the response is requested in a different manner, please note this in the request.

 

Right of rectification:

By way of the contacts listed below under “Data Controller”, data subjects may request that Hungarian Mint Ltd. amend or correct any personal data (e.g. name, e-mail address, if changes have occurred in such). If the request is sent to Hungarian Mint Ltd. electronically, the response letter of Hungarian Mint Ltd. shall also be sent electronically, if possible. If the response is requested in a different manner, please note this in the request. Without undue delay, Hungarian Mint Ltd. shall comply with the request within 30 days, notifying the party submitting the request accordingly by letter using the contact information provided.

 

Right to erase (“right be forgotten”):

Data subjects may request the erasure of personal data by Hungarian Mint Ltd., using the contacts listed below under “Data Controller”. Hungarian Mint Ltd. shall reject requests for erasure in cases in which Hungarian Mint Ltd. is required by law to continue storing the personal data. However, if such obligations do not apply to the personal data in question, then, without undue delay, Hungarian Mint Ltd. shall comply with the request within 30 days, notifying the party submitting the request accordingly by letter using the contact information provided. If the request is sent to Hungarian Mint Ltd. electronically, the response letter of Hungarian Mint Ltd. shall also be sent electronically, if possible. If the response is requested in a different manner, please note this in the request.

 

Right to restriction of data management:

Data subjects may request the restriction of personal data by Hungarian Mint Ltd., using the contacts listed below under “Data Controller”. In the case of restriction, Hungarian Mint Ltd. may only store the personal data; any other data management activities may only occur with the authorization of the party requesting restriction, or on the basis of legal claims or in the public interest.

 

Data restriction may be requested, if

  • you believe that the data is not exact, or
  • you believe that the Hungarian Mint Ltd. has managed your data illegally, but you do not wish the data to be erased,
  • you request data management to enforce or protect a legal claim, but the Hungarian Mint Ltd. no longer needs the data.

 

Without undue delay, Hungarian Mint Ltd. shall comply with the request within 30 days, notifying the party submitting the request accordingly by letter using the contact information provided. If the request is sent to Hungarian Mint Ltd. electronically, the response letter of Hungarian Mint Ltd. shall also be sent electronically, if possible. If the response is requested in a different manner, please note this in the request.

 

Right to revoke authorization:

At any time during the period of data management, data subjects may revoke the authorization for data management, using the contacts listed below under “Data Controller”. In the event that authorization is revoked, the data management activities performed by Hungarian Mint Ltd. prior to the authorization being revoked remain legal.

Following the receipt of revocation, Hungarian Mint Ltd. shall, without undue delay, delete the personal data and notify the party submitting the declaration accordingly by letter using the contact information provided. If the request is sent to Hungarian Mint Ltd. electronically, the response letter of Hungarian Mint Ltd. shall also be sent electronically, if possible. If the response is requested in a different manner, please note this in the declaration.

 

Legal remedies:

If, in the view of the affected party, the data management activities did not occur in accordance with the legal requirements, the party in question may request proceedings by the Hungarian Mint Ltd.’s data protection officer or may seek remedy in court.

Above and beyond this, by filing a report with the National Data Protection and Freedom of Information Authority anyone may request an investigation, indicating that there has been a violation of their rights related to the management of personal data, or that there is a direct risk thereof.
